Strong(h)er - A Full Body Strength & Conditioning Workout for ladies!

Join London-Based Personal Trainer, Natalie Holmes at 7.15pm every Thursday for Strong(h)er – a one hour total body workout in the outdoor gym at Caledonian Park, N7. 

The class involves a combination of strength and conditioning exercises and functional movement patterns and is guaranteed to burn fat and build lean muscle mass.

Functional training relates to movements that support a person’s ability to complete everyday activities; think squatting, lifting, pulling, pushing, jumping and twisting. No two workouts are the same. By varying the exercise type, the number of exercises, as well as the work time and rest time, each session promises to provide a challenging workout that constantly pushes your mind and body to the limit.

We will use the outdoor gym for this workout along with other equipment such as ropes, dumbbells and medicine balls. All equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.

Please bring water and a face towel to the session and make sure you are wearing suitable workout clothing and shoes that allow you to move your joints through a full range of movement. The class is suitable for all levels as exercises can be adapted to suit the needs of the individual.

The benefits of this class are endless, starting with increased strength and stamina, improved body composition and mobility, and a growth in overall GRIT!

The class will take place at the outdoor gym area next to the Clock Tower at Caledonian Park, Market Rd, London N7 9PL.

Add the event to your calendar to make sure you don’t forget and try to get there at least a few minutes before the start time.

Think fun…good music and great energy! The class will start with some dynamic stretches to loosen tight muscles and warm up your joints and muscles. 

The main session will vary from week to week but will include a combination of cardio, strength and conditioning to give you a rounded full body workout using bodyweight as well as weights. 

We will end the class with stretching to aid in recovery.

Cancellations are permitted up to 24 hours prior to the event. Any cancellation outside of this will result in a loss of payment.

If you booked the class via the You First app, you can cancel instantly subject to 24 hours notice. 

If you booked via the website and cannot attend, you would need to email Natalie at admin@youfirst.fitness or contact her on WhatsApp on +44 7932 693 566 with 24 hours notice and a refund will be issued to you within 5-7 working days. 

The class will take place come rain or shine, so sadly unless you cancel with more than 24 hours notice, you will be unable to claim a refund for the class. 

Rest assured you will be in safe hands regardless of your fitness level and experience. Adaptations will be offered for exercises to suit the different needs of participants so you are  encouraged to choose the option that works best for you and not to compare yourself to others. 

If you have any specific health concerns or injuries, you are advised to email Natalie prior to the class so she can advise you accordingly and prepare alternatives where necessary. At the very least, speak to her at the beginning of class, but given the nature of busy classes, receiving the level of attention and care that you deserve may be difficult so a message beforehand is always encouraged.

We all have to start somewhere and not coming to a class because you don’t think you are fit enough is not going to help you get fitter!

Although the class is not necessarily tailored to the needs of a pregnant woman,  Natalie is a Pre and Post Natal Specialist and can offer adaptations to make the exercises safe – provided you have clearance from a medical professional and sign a PARQ to verify this. 

If you have any specific health concerns or injuries, I would question if a class is the best option for you. Although adaptations can and will of course be offered to prevent aggravating your situation, in a class environment you may not necessarily be able to receive the level of care that you deserve. Personal training may be a better option for you as this allows for your trainer to plan and prepare specific exercises that not only prevent worsening your injury but can also encourage healing. 

If you do have specific concerns, you are advised to email Natalie prior to the class so she can advise you accordingly and prepare alternatives where necessary. What To Expect

19:15 - 19:25
Warm-up
The class will start with a series of dynamic stretches to loosen tight muscles and warm up your joints and muscles.
19:25 - 20:05
Main Session
This will be a series of exercises performed either in a circuit, HIIT or tabata style. Each week the main session layout will vary to ensure all areas of your fitness are being challenged - this includes changing the tempo, duration and number of sets.
20:05 - 20:15
Cool Down / Static Stretches
The class with finish with stretching to aid recovery and encourage balance within the muscles and joints.
