Nutrition Coaching

What is Nutrition Coaching?

Nutrition coaching is a service in which you will be provided with advice and guidance on making healthy choices around nutrition and lifestyle.

Nutrition coaching focuses a lot on achieving a balanced diet, however, it also works to motivate, mentor and counsel; to empower individuals to take responsibility for their health and make better informed choices. A big part of nutrition coaching is also helping people to identify their own behaviours that could be affecting their health, and therefore help them to become more knowledgeable about health and wellbeing. The aim is to offer practical support to achieve personal health goals and create sustainable lifestyle changes through education and self-awareness.

What does Nutrition Coaching involve?

Assessment

First and foremost we will have a consultation so I can get to know you better, understand your needs and goals are and discuss any difficulties you experience around achieving your goals. The conversation will be completely confidential. The information gathered will allow me to offer advice and guidance that is personalised based on your individual circumstances.

Personalised Meal Plan, Daily Habits and Targets

After assessing your needs and goals, a personalised meal plan that suits your goals, dietary preferences / requirements, and health status will be provided to you on my mobile app. The plan can include recipes for up to 5 meals per day, based on your preference, and will include the macronutrient information for each meal. You have the flexibility to swap meals out if you don’t like something, and depending on your preference, batch recipes can be provided instead for those who prefer to meal prep rather than cooking daily.

On top of receiving a personalised meal plan, you will also be set daily habits and activity targets in my app. These will all be discussed and agreed upon with you to make sure they are realistic and achievable.

1 on 1 Coaching

The package you choose will determine the number of coaching hours that you receive but coaching can be done online or in person at a time and day that is convenient for you. The type of topics covered during your coaching will vary depending on your goal and struggles. Ultimately though, the aim of coaching is to help you achieve your goals and create sustainable change by giving you knowledge and actionable steps.

Topics include but are not limited to:
– Energy Balance
– Meal Planning (Eatwell Plate)
– Meal Prepping
– Goal & Habit Setting
– How To Read Food Labels
– Hunger, Cravings, Triggers and Emotional Eating
– Food Croups & Calories
– The Truth About Alcohol
– Life Hacks
– Eating Out / Take Out / Events

Accountability & Support

Keeping a food diary which is synced to my app and visible to me as your coach at all times, is a really useful tool that you will be encouraged to use to record what you eat and drink daily. Every week you will be set targets and habits that we will review weekly via teams, so having a food diary allows us to reflect and evaluate more accurately. We will reflect on your progress and any obstacles you faced, and the finding will be used to help guide the next session’s topic. Support will be available to you around the clock via whatsapp and through my app so you will always be able to reach out should difficulties arise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find the answers to common questions about Nutrition Coaching below.

Never! There are so many diets out there which encourage people to make extreme changes such as cutting out entire food groups. Whilst some of these diets are good if you have a short term goal, the aim of nutrition coaching is to create sustainable, long-term change so that you can practice moderation and still enjoy the things you love. Through education and looking at your habits and daily choices together, we can begin to understand the changes we can implement to both your mindset and actions to create a life that serves you and has you feeling like the optimal version of yourself.

Nutrition Coaching is for anyone that wants to have a healthier relationship with food and understand how to make sustainable changes to their lifestyle and mindset for long-term health. Awareness is key when it comes to understanding how and why we develop certain behaviours and habits but through education you will be empowered to make better informed decisions going forward.

The full course content is 12 hours so if you would like to cover all topics then you can choose how you would like to split up the content – this could be 3 x 1 hour sessions for one month 1 session a week for 3 months for example. The coaching can be as flexible as you need it to be. If you were doing Nutrition Coaching as a part of a programme then generally speaking, you would have one hour of Nutrition Coaching per week to supplement your training.

With most health and fitness goals, 80% of the work comes down to diet and creating balanced and sustainable eating habits, so if you are struggling to see change despite exercising, it is likely that you will need to refocus your attention towards your diet.
